At least a dozen notable multiplayer and online games have already shut down in calendar year 2026. Servers went dark for Anthem, Warlander, The Sims Mobile, SUPERVIVE, Highguard, King of Meat, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt, World War 3, HAWKED, LET IT DIE's online service, The Elder Scrolls: Blades, Mario Kart Tour, and more — with Star Conflict and Tank Company still on the calendar. This page is the last-rites ledger: confirmed dates, platforms, one-line cause, and a link to our Graveyard or game page when we have one.
Cooling-off player counts are not the same thing as a shutdown. If a publisher hasn't said the servers are closing, it isn't here.
Check the pulse. Or pay your respects.

Content ended ≠ servers dead
These are not certified shutdowns. They show up in "is it dead?" searches, so we name them clearly.
| Game | What ended | Still playable? | On deadgam.es |
|---|---|---|---|
| Destiny 2 | Billed final live-service update Monument of Triumph (Jun 9, 2026). In September 2026 Bungie said it is restoring vaulted campaigns, destinations, and raids — no dates yet. | Yes. Tens of thousands on Steam; much larger on consoles. | /games/destiny-2-1085660/ · Graveyard RIP entry needs a "Second wind" update |
| Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League | Seasonal content ended Jan 14, 2025 (WB FAQ). | Online co-op + offline mode still described as available. | /games/suicide-squad-kill-the-justice-league/ |

January 2026 — the first last rites
Anthem — Jan 12, 2026
BioWare's flying loot shooter went offline for good. EA's FAQ is blunt: Anthem was designed as online-only, so once the servers closed, the game was no longer playable — no official offline mode. Premium currency sales stopped months earlier; the servers themselves died on January 12. Receipts: EA Anthem Game Update. On deadgam.es: Graveyard Certified DEAD entry (no dedicated /games/ page yet).
The Sims Mobile — Jan 20, 2026 · 13:59 UTC
After seven years and fifty-plus updates, EA shut The Sims Mobile at a precise UTC timestamp. Progress lived on EA's servers, so when those went dark, the game stopped. Delisting had already happened in October 2025. Receipts: EA — The Sims Mobile: Our Final Update.
Warlander — Jan 20, 2026 · 09:00 UTC
Toylogic's castle-siege multiplayer ended service the same day as Sims Mobile, at 09:00 UTC. The Steam notice separates the service end from customer-support closure (July 20, 2026). Receipts: Toylogic Steam — Service Termination. On deadgam.es: Graveyard Certified DEAD entry.
February 2026 — SUPERVIVE's sunset
SUPERVIVE — Feb 25, 2026 · 18:00 PST
Theorycraft's MOBA battle royale — built by a lot of ex-Riot talent — ended live service on February 25. The studio's own FAQ put servers offline at 6 PM PST that day and delisted the game from Steam. Patch 2.04 was the last planned content drop. Retention, not a surprise patch, killed it. Receipts: Steam — Sunsetting SUPERVIVE · Theorycraft Sunset FAQ. On deadgam.es: Graveyard Certified DEAD entry.
March 2026 — Highguard's short runway
Highguard — Mar 12, 2026
Wildlight Entertainment's free-to-play squad shooter launched January 26 and was permanently shut down March 12 — under two months later. The studio said it reached about 2 million players but "have not been able to build a sustainable player base to support the game long term." Most of the staff had already been laid off in February. Concord energy, without the eight-year budget. Receipts: The Verge · GamesIndustry.biz. Needs a deadgam.es Graveyard page.
April 2026 — the spring clear-out
King of Meat — Apr 9, 2026
Glowmade's chaotic co-op party game got a rare courtesy: full refunds for purchasers, plus a hard stop on April 9. Storefronts and stamp purchases were disabled from February 23. After April 9 the servers went offline and the game was no longer playable. Receipts: kingofmeat.com.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile — Apr 17, 2026
Activision took Warzone Mobile offline after it "did not meet expectations with mobile-first players." New seasonal content and real-money purchases had already stopped in 2025; April 17 was the final server cut. Call of Duty: Mobile and console/PC Warzone were left standing. Receipts: Activision Support — Warzone Mobile Service Changes.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt — Apr 28, 2026
Sharkmob ended content development years earlier and finally pulled the plug when the population couldn't justify the servers. Prague closed on April 28 for PC and PS5; remaining tokens died with the service. Receipts: Sharkmob announcement via Steam news · Gematsu.
June–September 2026 — summer funerals
HAWKED — PC Jun 9 · consoles Sep 7, 2026
MY.GAMES wound down the extraction shooter in stages: purchases disabled March 11, PC servers first, consoles later. After each cutover the online game is gone. The studio's own site has since gone dark with the product; the Steam news post and contemporary press quote the dates. Receipts: Steam — HAWKED SHUTS DOWN SOON · PSU summary.
Battlefield Hardline (console multiplayer) — Jun 22, 2026
EA ended PS4 and Xbox One online services for Hardline. The single-player campaign remains playable, and PC multiplayer was not included in that console cut. Treat this as a platform-specific last rite, not a full franchise funeral. Receipts: Pure Xbox · Insider Gaming.
The Elder Scrolls: Blades — Jun 30, 2026
Bethesda delisted Blades and shut servers across mobile and Switch on June 30. No offline rescue. Receipts: IGN · Nintendo Life.
World War 3 — Aug 3, 2026
New Generation Games announced the end of support in June and took the free-to-play tactical shooter offline on August 3. After that date it is no longer playable. Receipts: Steam — World War 3 Server Shutdown.
LET IT DIE (online service) — Aug 31, 2026
GungHo ended the original LET IT DIE online service at the end of August and shipped a paid offline edition so the tower still stands without the servers. Online multiplayer is dead; the single-player offline product is not. Receipts: GungHo — offline available.
Mario Kart Tour — Sep 29, 2026 · 23:00 PT
Nintendo's mobile racer went unplayable when servers dropped at 11 PM Pacific on September 29. No offline version. Rubies and the Gold Pass had already been wound down over the summer. Receipts: PocketGamer.biz report.
Coming soon — still breathing, date on the tombstone
Star Conflict — Oct 10, 2026
Gaijin's long-running space MMO has a hard stop on October 10. New accounts closed May 14; monetization closed June 1; servers die October 10. Receipts: Official Star Conflict news.
Tank Company — Nov 9, 2026 · 12:00 UTC
NetEase's mobile tank shooter ends service November 9. The game was removed from app stores on September 9; keep it installed if you want the last month. Receipts: Tank Company official sunset post.
Still breathing (high "is it dead?" demand — not shut down)
These titles light up autocomplete and Reddit. None of them belong on a Certified DEAD list today.

If a game is only "cooling off" on our directory, it does not make this list. Check the pulse on the game directory or the Graveyard.
How we decide a game is actually dead
On deadgam.es, † Certified DEAD requires a reviewed official announcement that the service closed. Low player counts alone never award that label. RIP · content ended means development or seasonal content stopped; the game may still be playable. Full rules: Data & methodology.
This hub page is a curated 2026 ledger of confirmed (or firmly announced) multiplayer / online shutdowns — not a census of every delisted mobile minigame. Press roundups have counted 50+ closures this year when you include niche titles and platform-specific online features; we prioritize games with official dates and a meaningful multiplayer audience.
FAQ
How many games shut down in 2026?
Dozens, depending on how small you go. This page lists the major confirmed multiplayer and online service closures through October 6, 2026, plus announced upcoming ones. Broader press tallies (including niche mobile and legacy console online features) run higher.
Which big multiplayer games died in 2026?
Among the highest-profile full shutdowns: Anthem (Jan 12), SUPERVIVE (Feb 25), Highguard (Mar 12), King of Meat (Apr 9), Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile (Apr 17), Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt (Apr 28), World War 3 (Aug 3), and Mario Kart Tour (Sep 29).
Is Destiny 2 shutting down in 2026?
No. Bungie released what it called the final live-service update in June 2026, then announced in September that vaulted campaigns, destinations, and raids are coming back. Servers remain online. See Is Destiny 2 dead?.
What's the difference between a dead game and a cooling-off game?
A dead game has an official service closure (or equivalent). A cooling-off game still has servers and players; its Steam average just dropped hard month over month. We tag those separately and do not predict shutdowns from a chart alone.
Are there more shutdowns coming in 2026?
Yes. As of this writing, Star Conflict is set for October 10 and Tank Company for November 9. Publishers announce more throughout the year — we'll update this page when we verify them.
Where can I see every certified dead game you track?
The Graveyard is our sourced Hall of Fame. This hub is the 2026 year filter with extra context and external receipts.

Steam-only / methodology note
deadgam.es tracks Steam concurrent players for the games in our directory. Many titles on this hub (mobile games, console-only online features) never had a meaningful Steam pulse, so we rely on publisher announcements rather than player charts for their death certificates. Steam counts also miss PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, Battle.net, and mobile audiences. Full methodology: How we track activity. Field guide: When is a game actually dead?.
